Texas Hold’em is a Poker game where players try to make the best five-card Poker hand.
Each player receives two private cards, known as hole cards.
Five community cards are then gradually dealt face-up in the centre of the table.
Everyone can use these community cards alongside their own cards to create their best possible five-card hand.
The challenge is deciding whether your cards are worth playing.
Do you stay in?
Do you raise?
Or do you decide this isn't your hand and fold?
That's where the fun begins.
Every player starts with two cards that only they can see.
The community cards are then dealt in stages.
The first three community cards are dealt face-up in the middle of the table.
A fourth community card is dealt.
The fifth and final community card is dealt.
Players use any combination of their two cards and the five community cards to create their best five-card Poker hand.
If more than one player remains at the end, the cards are revealed in the Showdown and the strongest hand wins.
From strongest to weakest, the standard Texas Hold’em Poker hands are:
Royal Flush – A, K, Q, J and 10, all of the same suit
Straight Flush – five consecutive cards of the same suit
Four of a Kind – four cards of the same value
Full House – three of a kind plus a pair
Flush – five cards of the same suit
Straight – five cards in numerical order
Three of a Kind – three cards of the same value
Two Pair – two different pairs
One Pair – two cards of the same value
High Card – if you don't have any of the combinations above, your highest card plays
Sound complicated?
Don't worry – you don't need to memorise them.
Our croupier will help you identify your hand while you're playing.
Texas Hold’em brings something different to a fun casino.
Where Roulette creates excitement around the spinning wheel and Blackjack has guests taking on the dealer, Poker introduces a little more strategy, decision-making and friendly competition.
It's particularly good for guests who enjoy learning a game and getting involved for several hands.
And then there's the Poker face...
Can your friends, family or colleagues tell whether you've got an incredible hand – or absolutely nothing?
